To coincide with the footage I synchronized my own voice to the counting of each step. This is how I thought best to demonstrate the obsession by endlessly repeating the continuous counting of steps.
Once I had collected all the footage I wanted, I decided to edit them in fast paced, choppy manner to reflect upon the repetitive action. To keep a flowing momentum throughout the film I cut the clips at precisely the right timing, making them appear seamless.
By focusing on obsession, selecting one single action eliminated the scattered sequences of footage. By choosing stairs and steps it allowed me to capture the repetitive motion of walking up and down each step whilst counting them.

Obsession is the need or obligation to follow an act repeatedly. This obsession can be ingrained within a persons psyche, preventing the dismissal of the notion. Numbers are infinite and forever ongoing, which is why the obsession with repetitively counting is unavoidable.
