Writing about contemporary art
Our latest brief has been inspired by current featured Expert, Assistant Editor of ArtReview magazine, Oliver Basciano.
Do you enjoy writing about contemporary art?
Do you have strong or interesting opinions?
Would you like to see your writing published?
All you need to do is write a short review (no more than 500 words) of a current contemporary art exhibition of your choosing and publish it here on REcreative.
SOME HINTS and TIPS:
* Write what you think – and don’t overthink it. As Oliver says in his interview, there is no right or wrong answer. You can write anything as long as it’s factually accurate.
* Make it personal – don’t just tell us what you’re looking at. Tell us what it makes you think and how it makes you feel.
* Think about your audience. Keep it clear and to the point, art world jargon is not essential!
A SERIOUSLY HUGE INCENTIVE:
Writers of the best reviews will win the chance to participate in a one-day writing workshop with Oliver himself where you will visit an exhibition and get the chance to write a review and receive professional feedback on your work! You may also end up PUBLISHED on ArtReview.com...
