Tell Gillian
Our latest project brief celebrates the opening of Gillian Wearing’s major new show at Whitechapel Gallery.
As part of the Whitechapel’s Tell Gillian campaign, we’re also asking people to.... Tell Gillian what you’re really, really, thinking....
Inspired by her iconic series, Signs that Say What You Want Them To Say and Not Signs that Say What Someone Else Wants You To Say (1992-93), we want you to create your own portrait with a sign telling Gillian what’s on your mind.
All you need to do is.....
Think of a thought
Put it on a poster
Take a photo of yourself holding your thought
Click “Respond to brief” to create your Gillian-inspired project and upload your image
Your “thoughts” will be added to Whitechapel Gallery’s Tell Gillian Facebook page where Gillian will choose five favourites in May. The winners will win an exclusive tour of the show with the curator, a signed catalogue and poster and lunch at the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room.
The best 10 REcreative submissions will also receive a pair of tickets to see Gillian Wearing’s show at Whitechapel Gallery.
